"With greater power to build alliances across boundaries, the Davids of the world are having more success throwing off the Goliaths."
Alliance for Justice is a national association of more than 100 organizations dedicated to advancing justice and democracy. For 30 years we have been leaders in the fight for a more equitable society on behalf of a broad constituency of environmental, consumer, civil and women's rights, children's, senior citizens' and other groups. Alliance for Justice is premised on the belief that all Americans have the right to secure justice in the courts and to have our voice heard when government makes decisions that affect our lives.
Too often our political parties and elected officials have been unduly influenced by the extremes of the Far Right and the Far Left. We'd like to change that.
We are Americans who believe our elected officials should be less concerned about the welfare of their political parties and more concerned about the welfare of their nation. We should be Americans first and Democrats / Republicans second.
The Canadian School of Peacebuilding (CSOP), an institute of Canadian Mennonite University, offers a selection of 5-day courses each June. Courses can be taken for professional or personal development or for academic credit. The CSOP is a learning community of diverse peacebuilders who come together to learn, network and engage in peacebuilding. This requires respect, curiosity and a broad range of connecting points for both students and faculty.
What We’re All About
The National Coalition for Dialogue & Deliberation (NCDD) actively promotes learning and collaboration among practitioners, public leaders, scholars and organizations involved in dialogue, deliberation, and other innovative group processes that help people tackle our most challenging problems.
The Open Government Partnership is a global effort to make governments better. We all want more transparent, effective and accountable governments -- with institutions that empower citizens and are responsive to their aspirations. But this work is never easy.
It takes political leadership. It takes technical knowledge. It takes sustained effort and investment. It takes collaboration between governments and civil society.
SharedPurpose.Net is a visionary network system for community and political organizing. We are a neutral convener, supporting individuals and groups building teamwork and understanding across divides, as we work together to overcome challenges of political polarization and destructive competition. We are building bridges between demographic groups and psychological types, following a holistic vision of integration and wholeness in the context of a national and global crisis of fragmentation and misunderstanding.
Who are we?
The movement for tribal peoples. Survival is the only organization working for tribal peoples’ rights worldwide.
We work with hundreds of tribal communities and organizations. We are funded almost entirely by concerned members of the public and some foundations. We will not take national government money, because governments are the main violators of tribal peoples’ rights, nor will we take money from companies which might be abusing tribal peoples.
The principle of compassion lies at the heart of all religious, ethical and spiritual traditions, calling us always to treat all others as we wish to be treated ourselves. Compassion impels us to work tirelessly to alleviate the suffering of our fellow creatures, to dethrone ourselves from the centre of our world and put another there, and to honour the inviolable sanctity of every single human being, treating everybody, without exception, with absolute justice, equity and respect.
